My Story Begins
I opened my very first workshop with a lively two-year-old by my side and a colicky baby on my hip. Through thick and thin, their older brother and sister helped wherever they could. Looking back, I’m deeply grateful for the kind clients who were patient when things didn’t always run on schedule.
People Are Good
Every mistake and late delivery was met with understanding and kindness. Because of good people, I could grow — learning through feedback, absorbing every bit of advice, and slowly becoming a better jeweller, one day at a time.
From ‘My’ Business to ‘Our’ Business
As the years passed, my team began to grow. I trained several apprentices — some of whom stayed and helped shape Roelien de Klerk Jewellery into the success it is today. Then came Covid. Like all challenges, it carried lessons. The long, uncertain days gave me time to think differently. Just before Covid, I met Petra, and together we created our online store trough a Facebook page. Once again, people were good to us and the support was more than expected — and that helped us grow into a fully equipped workshop with skilled jewellers.

My husband, Frans, is my compass when it comes to finances. With his expertise and creative business sense, he’s the safety net that keeps us grounded.
Corrie, once a client and now a close friend, has mentored and encouraged me for over a decade. A successful businesswoman herself, she taught me the finer points of time management — and today, she’s not just a supporter, but also one of our greatest ambassadors.
Jana is our financial guru — the one who keeps everything in order, waving green, red, or orange flags when needed (though thankfully, it’s usually green).
Today
Today, we are a team that believes work is a privilege. We believe in enjoying what we do – and we stand together to deliver the very best to our clients. We spend 8 hours a day side by side, trusting each other’s judgement and input with every jewellery piece we create.
We look forward to continued growth – not for our own glory, but for the sake of a beautiful art form that deserves to flourish in our beautiful country and our beautiful town, Orania.
